Hi! I am Lara the Sea Sirene
My Story

I began surfing very late in life, maybe the stimulus to get out in the water was working for the amazing people at Trigger Bros. Anyway at age 50, yep you read it right - 50 years young I jumped in the shallow end :-)
Taking baby steps I started with a 100 ft long stand up paddle board, well maybe it was a bit shorter but as stable as the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Next, as I was living on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia I joined the Maladiction Longboarders. My journey, love of the ocean and the sport in large part can be attributed to the mentoring and camaraderie of the wonderful surfing community on the Mornington Peninsula.
I am no Stephanie Gilmore however I take pride in the fact that through dedication I have won some club awards and been placed in Victorian surf competitions for the over 50's.
So the take away may be:-
1) You are never too old to have a crack at something new.
2) Know your limitations and start small with progressive goals.
3) Enjoy and have fun on the journey
All the best and may your next wave be the best ever!!!
